Mcchrystal Fired: Rolling stone article

There was alot of Talk about General Mcchrystal being Fired from his position yesterday, I don't agree with it, but I'm only a Canadian.... My Favorite quote would have to be where Mcchrystal reders to the white house as being Wimps... I'd love to see them over there fighting and acting out the decisions they make, anyways you can read the article here

World Cup: France falls apart

The referee waved a red card at the French player, ejecting him from the game for a nasty, elbow foul. His coach buried his head in his hands.

Soon after, South Africa put the French out of their misery with a 2-1 victory, and France's World Cup humiliation was complete.
It was reported that Fans who gathered around the Eiffel Tower to watch the game on Big outdoor screens Booed their country men and Cheers the South African team.

France's multimillionaire players embarrassed themselves and their nation by rebelling against their coach and the French Football Federation, even taking the extraordinary step of going on strike.

It would be different if they were there representing themselves, but they were at the World Cup representing their Country, who they let down!

Dustin Johnson Chokes!!!!!

Well I sat down to watch the US Open, the leader going into Sunday was Dustin Johnson.
Before the leaders teed off there was an interview with Johnson about my he's prepared to take the title and how he's calm under pressure, and there was alot of pressure The chance to win one of the biggest title in golf, Tiger, Phil and Els at your heels... how would he do?

Well he Shot a 82..... 10 over Par!

I felt bad for him, he's a young guy that maybe got alittle too confident and forgot to respect the course that can easily humble you if your not paying attention.  Johnson really didn't have a chance once he left the second hole he must have felt defeated, he shot a triple bogey..

This would be a perfect study in sports physiology..... How much does nerves play into our performance?

Whopper Drop

Hello all,
Yesterday was a beautiful day here in the city and I'm on vacation!!
So I got up early for my standards and grabbed my bike and headed for the trail..

The Trail I bike at the most is called The Whopper Drop, it gets it's name because the start of the trail is behind a Buger King.
The trail goes through a stretch that goes over exposed granite then it heads into the woods, I say the trail is for all riders, but if your new you'll be doing alittle walking!
I had a great time with only one whipout, went right over the handlebars.... Lol
But it's all fun?
What are some of your favorite places to bike?

Trip toYosemite: Half Dome

I have mentioned before, in September myself and my brother will be travelling to California.

One part that I am the most excited about is out 3 day hike in Yosemite national park, We will be doing a 14 hour hike that goes to Half Dome.  You can see half Dome in the back ground on the picture to the left.

When you hike towards the face of half dome your in a more wooded nature trail, but as you come near the end of the hike you are faced with going up the side of Half Dome, you use a steel type ladder to help you up the face of the rock. (Shown to the right) (More pics)

The Hike is classed as extremely difficult, during the hike you gain nearly 5000 feet in elevation.
You hike takes you past beautiful waterfalls and hot valley's, then you come out tot he exposed rock of half Dome, if you are interested I would watch this video HERE,
I'm excited about the trip, more to come

Lakers Win!

Hey,
How many of you were tired today at work because you stayed up to watch the lakers win?
I was one of those people, but luckily I am on vacation so I was able to sleep in.
The Finals went to game 7 which any sports fan gets excited about, the sad this is that usually games 7's are a flop, but this game lived up to the hype.
The lakers won 83-79 (I was cheering for Boston)
The game was close the whole game with the storyline developing that Kobe was choking, he had a terrible game and was being pulled along by unlikely stars like tough guy Ron Artest.
The game was exciting and I was just happy for that because I'm not a huge NBA fan, maybe I'll chat later about the talk about Kobe being as good as MJ......

Shooting

Hello all,
Yesterday a bunch of people from my shift headed out to the range, I haven't been shooting in a while so I was excited to go.

I bought about 200 rounds ( we are allowed to but 200 rounds a month, some Departments provide it free, but what can you do..)

We headed out and it was raining alittle, but it ended up being great weather to shoot, because it wasn't too hot.

I was impressed with my shooting, we had some fun plus I was able to work on some skills.

Today is going to be 28 here, So I think I will try to play some basketball with some friends, Chat later

Seattle Police officer Punches Teen in face!!

Hello All,
So I'm sure that all you have seen this video so far, but if not here it is.
There is alot of talk about this video on the news today, CNN is showing the video it seems every half hour, Whats your take on the officers actions?

There are two Points I would like to touch on here:
1) Police officers live in a world today where you always have to be thinking that all your actions are being recorded, we live in a world where everyone has cellphone and those cell phones can now even record in HD, Years ago this would have been a local story about the teens complaint, but now it's national news because there's a video and stuff like this sells!!!

2) When watching this video I want you to be careful when your judging the officers, he was attempting to make an arrest the female was resisting and the other female jumped in, as a police officer he has to take charge and as you can see the situation was going out of control, I am not saying a punch to the face was proper force and I'm not going to judge him leave that to his supervisors, But I would hate to see an officers life ruined over all the attention this will get..

Going for a run

Well yesterday it poured down rain here, and I sent most of the day sitting in the house, but now that the sun has popped it's head out from behind the clouds I think that I'll pop out for a run...

I have been slacking alittle lately so I think I'll just go for a 5Km run, if the bike trails were not as wet from yesterdays rain I'd hit the Trails but it's running today....

Stosur Surges Past Serena Williams

1 day after the Men's #1 seed was taken out by Robin Soderling it was Samantha Stosur of Australia time to shine, pulling the surprise over Williams, saving her best and boldest strokes for the final, testy moments of an extended match. They were enough to beat top-seeded Serena Williams in the quarterfinals of the French Open, 6-2, 6-7 (2), 8-6.

Sinkhole in Guatemala

Have you seen the Massive Sinkhole in Guatemala?
You know it's bad when you have to look at it a few times, thinking it's fake!!

Following torrential downpour courtesy of Tropical Storm Agatha, a gigantic, hellish sinkhole has formed in northern Guatemala City. So far, the abyss has consumed a three-story building and an intersection.

BlueNose Marathon

Hello all,

I have been slack the last while updating my blog, I plan to pick it up again as the summer gets going.

Here in Halifax we had our Bluenose Marathon recently, I always work it when asked, I end up watching all the great runners go by, past years it's been in the rain but this years it was great weather.

One thing that always gets me is the runners that take the time as they are running by to say thank-you for working the event. One thing from working the event, I wish that I could help plan the event, I would take the run on a better path to help avoid some of the traffic mess that you get from the event.

I must say that on a funny note, there's a gentlemen that I have seen the last cpl of years, I give him credit he runs the full marathon (which I could never do) but what puts a smile on my face is that he runs the Marathon in a skirt and sports bra and he must weigh 260Lbs.... Power to him!
