Well I learned that VFF don't make you superman when you put them on.
I have been doing great the last couple of months, I've lost 13lbs the last couple months putting below 200lbs for the first time in over 4yrs :D
I guess the problem has been that I was doing so well and feeling great during my runs that I upped my distance by big chucks.
Last week after a good paced 8km run I felt good, but the next day my Achilles tendons felt sore, mainly my left one. When reading online the two main factors that lead to Achilles tendon pain is:
1) Quickly Increasing distance
2) Quickly Increasing speed
Well I did both so that's why I have pain! LOL
Any Ideas?

some good things to remember is to stretch your arch and roll a gfolf ball under your foot. That has helped me a ton. helps relieve the tension. ICE buckets. stick your feet in ice buckets for 10 mins after a run longer than 10K. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThe number one way to treat a sore Achilles tendon (Achilles Tendonits) is doing eccentric calf exercises. Eighty percent of all patients are cured with this method.
I have written an article on the topic over at Ezinarticles:

Best!
